American Red Cross Cna Training Boston
Getting your CNA training can be a life changing experience. The American Red Cross could make it possible for you to get the training you need to become a CNA or certified Nursing assistant. The Red Cross does not offer this option in all states, not does it offer them in all areas in the states that they do offer them. Take, for example, Boston, which is a rather large city. By contacting your local American Red Cross in Boston, you can take the basic entrance exam through the Boston American Red Cross; however, they do not actually offer any courses inside of the city, instead opting to offer those courses outside of the major city, in the nearby suburbs.
Once you pass your entrance exam, which is the most basic of tests, making sure that you understand basic math and have a decent grasp on the English language, you do not need to a be a high school graduate or equivalent to take the CNA training courses through the American Red Cross. If you do decide to get your CNA training through the Boston American Red Cross, then you have your choice of a few different place, Braintree, Brockton and Peabody MA just to name a few of the local areas that you could take your CNA training with the American Red Cross.
Getting into a CNA training course can be very easy, assuming that you do not have a criminal record. All students that attend an American Red Cross CNA training program must submit to a criminal background check, which the student is not responsible for paying for, and to a TB or tuberculosis test. A TB test is very simple; they use a dead virus, very small amount, in what is called and intradermal injection. Intradermal means that it is a small amount of fluid in a very tiny needle that is placed between the layers of your skin. Once you have the TB test done, then you go back to the testing location, such as your doctor’s office, in three days to have the test read. If there is no reaction to the injection, then you are considered TB negative and are able to enroll in the American Red Cross CNA training courses.
The requirements to get into an American Red Cross CNA training course are very easy to pass. You must have a clean criminal background, which they pay to have checked, you must have a negative TB test, which most health departments and doctor’s offices can do for you and you must be able to pass the most basic of math and English skills. If you made it to high school, you did not have to graduate, just passed the 8th grade, then you should have the required math and English skills to pass the written tests. It would also be advisable, should you decide to go into the healthcare field, that you also have a Hepatitis B vaccine series done as well, but it is not required for the course.
